This program is not Freeware. This is SHAREWARE which means it is user-
supported software. If you use this program for more than 30 days, you are
required to register or remove it from your system. The registration fee
is a mere $10.00 and is not a lot to ask.
The concept works only with your support. If you find that you can use
this program, then a registration fee of $10.00 U.S. funds will help defray
the development cost and encourage the authorship of other programs that
might be useful to you. A Registration Form for this purpose is included
with the distribution archive and is called QSEVEN.REG
QSeven is Copyrighted 1991 by Motor City Software and all rights are

│░░░░░░ INTRODUCTION ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ Q-Seven 3.0 ░░░░│
╘══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛
Q-Seven is an online ANSI graphics "Over and Under" game for QuickBBS
and RemoteAccess BBS.
This version supports QuickBBS V2.75, 2.76, and RemoteAccess V1.1x, and
2.00
It allows users to gamble their time remaining while online. The program
is pretty straight forward and and easy to install. It does require ANSI
graphics to be turned ON by the user and does require the DOS ANSI.SYS
driver to be installed on the host computer. If a caller tries to run
Q-Seven and does not have graphics turned on, the program will notify the
user that graphics are required. It will then return control to the BBS.
Q-Seven allows the BBS Sysop to define the maximum number of turns
allowed per user, per day as well as the maximum number of minutes a user
may accumulate while in the game. Once a user has reached a maximum number
of accumulative minutes, the user is not allowed to access the game until
the next day. Once a user has reached the maximum number of turns per day
Q-Seven will not allow the user to take any more turns.

│░░░░░░ INSTALLATION ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ Q-Seven 3.0 ░░░░│
╘══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛
Q-Seven is easy to install. A type 7 menu entry may be used, as follows:
Optional Data : D:\BBS\DOORS\Q7\QSEVEN.EXE 2 100 100 /N*N
Commandline Parameters:
QSEVEN <coin_value> <max_mins> <max_turns> [/Bbank_path] [/Wn] [/Nn]
Where - Coin_value is a number from 1 to 10. This tells Q-Seven
the value of a coin in minutes. For example, if you enter
a value of 2, each coin will have a value of 2 minutes. I
have found that a value of 2 works well.
- Max_mins is a number from 1 to 1000. This tells Q-Seven
the maximum number of minutes a user can win while in the
program. This includes the user's current time plus any
winnings accumulated during play. If a user meets or exceeds
this number, the user will be congratulated and politely asked
to try again tomorrow. The user will not be allowed access to
Q-Seven until the next day.
NOTE: This number will include the time the user already has.
If this was set to 100 and the user had 99 minutes when he
entered the program, he would be allowed to win only one
minute.
- Max_turns is a number from 1 to 1000. This tells Q-Seven
the maximum number of turns a player may take per day. If
this number is reached, the user will not be allowed to take
any more turns.
Installation Continued.
- /B tells Q-Seven that you wish to use time banking supprt.
What this means is that if a player is in Q-Seven and wins
an amount of time that would overstep a system event, Q-Seven
will create a file called THEBANK.EXT. This file would then
contain the user's name and the number of minutes to
automatically deposit in the user's time bank account.
For example, if there is a system event in 60 minutes and the
player wins 80 minutes Q-Seven will give the player 60 minutes
of winnings and automatically bank the rest (20 minutes).
You may also supply a path to where THEBANK.EXT file will be
created. For example, /Bc:\bbs would cause THEBANK.EXT
file to be created in the BBS directory on drive C:. Note that
there is no space between the /B and the path.
See your Time Bank utility documentation to see if it supports
this file or download the latest version of RATS ( RATS200.ZIP )
from any Motor City Software Support site!
- /W tells Q-Seven the maximum number of coins a player may
wager per turn. This may be a value from 1 to 999 and will
default to 10 if not specified.
- /Nn allows you to pass the node number to QSeven. This is used
for the logfiles, and the Status Bar on the screen.

╘══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛
The Q-Seven archive comes with a few files needed by the program. You
can run Q-Seven from any directory. It looks for the ExitInfo.BBS and the
Dorinfo1.Def in the current directory, and reads all of its own files from
the directory containing the .EXE file.
The files that come with the archive are:
QSEVEN.EXE This is the program
QSEVEN.ANS This is the formatted graphic used
QSEVEN.ASC This is the non-color graphic used
QSEVEN.HLP This is a formatted help file
QSEVEN.DOC This document
NOTE: Do not edit or change the contents of QSEVEN.ANS, QSEVEN.ASC
or QSEVEN.HLP. These files are formatted specifically for the
program.
In addition to these files, Q-Seven also creates and maintains some files
it needs to operate. These are:
QSEVEN.DTE Julian date file. Erase this file if
you need to reset the game that day.
QSEVEN.USR List of users who have reached a daily
limit and are not allowed to play again
that day.
QSEVEN.TRN This keeps track of the user turn counts
for the day.
QSEVEN.LOG This is the player log. It is a circular
text file which tracks the last 15 players
and how they did.
THEBANK.EXT External time bank utility file. This
file is created and maintained by Q-Seven
and is read by The Bank v1.00 and later.
Do not delete this file. The Bank will
delete it each time it has read it.
Q7_##.ERR Reference to any run time errors that
might occur. ## is replaced by the node
number.

╘══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛
When The Bank is run and locates THEBANK.EXT, it will read it through to
the end of the file updating or adding user accounts as needed. The format
of THEBANK.EXT is: User Name:Time
For example, if JOHN DOE wins 80 minutes and Q-Seven deposits 20 minutes
into his account, the following line will be appended to THEBANK.EXT:
JOHN DOE:20
A user's name can appear in this file more than once. The Bank will
handle it properly. For more details, see The Bank 1.00 or later, or
RATS 1.01 or later.

Q-Seven also allows the Sysop to plug his/her BBS by displaying a file
called QSEVEN.TXT, if it exists. So, if there's a message you'd like to
display before Q-Seven draws it's screen, just create an ASCII text file
called QSEVEN.TXT and put it in the same directory as Q-Seven and it will
be displayed.
Sysop function keys:
[ALT]-[C] : Chat with word wrap.
[ESC] to quit chat.
[ALT]-[H] : Hang up on user.
[ALT]-[J] : Jump to DOS.
[ALT]-[T] : Unconditionally return user to BBS.
Up Arrow : Increase users time by 2 minutes.
Down Arrow : Decrease users time by 2 minutes.
